Cameron Smith

B.App,Sc (Agr), MAIAST, AAAC, CPAg

Cameron has been involved in the Victorian Dairy Industry for over twenty years. In 2004 he became a Director of, and Farm Management Consultant for Farmanco Pty Ltd.


Cameron provides physical and financial management advice to a large group of farmer clients across Northern Victoria and Southern NSW. His work mostly involves cash flow budgeting and budget monitoring, annual and development budgets, project evaluation, loan applications as well as technical advice on all aspects of dairy farm management.


In addition to dealing directly with individual farmers, Cameron also frequently consults to organisations associated with the dairy industry as well as other service providers in the region.


Cameron has managed and developed many industry projects as well as facilitated many farmer groups. He currently facilitates two Dairy Business Network groups that have been running for over seven years.


As a well recognised expert in the area of farm business management, Cameron regularly speaks at key industry events, such as Murray Dairies business forum and service provider seminars.

Cameron has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Agriculture, a Diploma of Business (Human Resources) and is Member of the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology and an accredited Consultant of the Australian Association of Agricultural Consultants.

Cameron is a past Board Member of Murray Dairy (2004-2010)


Cameron's initial involvement in the dairy industry was as a Dairy Extension Officer with the Victorian Department of Agriculture, at Echuca and Kerang, involved with the Target 10 Dairy Extension Program, specialising in irrigated pasture management.
 After three years there, he moved to Murray-Goulburn Co-operative, Rochester, as Field Services Manager. There he was responsible for the provision of farm services to 810 dairy farms in Northwest Victoria. His role included the provision of extension programs, discussion group facilitation, financial and management advice and the development of broader company policy.
